I sit here writing... very tried and feeling unsettled. I say tired because have spent the last 10 days packing up my house and then the weekend speaking to a great group of teenage girls from Christway Community Church. The retreat was up in Dayton, TN. The retreat was great, and I really enjoyed the girls and their leaders.
And I say unsettled because we are moving...states. I left on Friday with Sinclair and a packed car. Scott, along with much help, packed a moving truck on Saturday. My brother drove the truck to TN and here it sits at my parents' house. Today, we will unpack the truck...not into our permanent new home but into a temporary townhome. Did I mention a SMALL temporary townhome?
We decided about 9 months ago to move to TN. We didn't really tell people simply because we knew it would be awhile until we actually moved. Both of us will continue to work our jobs. We just felt like it was a good time to try living close to family. We have a home, a 100 year old home, in the historic district on the town but we are planning to renovate it which is why we are moving into a temporary home. Our renovation should take between 4 and 6 months (keep in mind that Baby Bragg #2 arrives in about 3 1/2 months). So we are praying for a speedy renovation!
I hate the feeling on unsettledness. People keep asking me if I'm excited to be back but it's hard to say. I think that's the case because I know I'm not moving into my home right away. I'm excited for other things but will definitely be glad to be in our home.
What a surprise! I hope all the renovaitons go well and that you love being in TN!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I didn't know! That's definitely exciting news to share! I'm glad everything went well and you have a place to live while your new home gets fixed up. It will be that much more special for you when you finally get to move in. How awesome! But it'll be sad not having you closer! :<(
ReplyDeleteI love those old homes!! I admire you for doing the renovation at this time in your life. It will be fun to watch the changes as you share them with us. Don't know if I would have ever had the patience to go through it. I know the end result with be SO worth it all!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Can't wait to see pics of the new home...I love historical homes! If Brian were a bit more handy, we would be living in one now!
