Thursday I took off from Atlanta to Houston. I had the privilege of speaking at a girls event Thursday and a women's retreat Friday-Saturday at Brazos Pointe Fellowship in Lake Jackson, TX. I was picked up at the airport from a long time friend, Mary Margaret. We met back when I worked at Saddleback. She is one of those people that I had forgotten how well we connect. We haven't talked to each other in probably six years! But we picked up with each other like we never skipped a beat. It was such a blessing to be around her. The whole trip really felt like a vacation (minus the lack of sleep) but I stayed in a nice hotel, had snacks in my room, watched Gilmore Girls and had NO diapers to change and NO meals to cook!!!
I really had such a great time with the people of that church. They are doing incredible things and I wish I could attend that church. This was the first women's retreat where I've been the main speaker. I absolutely enjoyed speaking to just women. It was fun to connect with women from young to old. I truly was blessed this weekend.
Sinclair had a great weekend, too. She got to spend some quality time with Scott's mom, Gia Gia, and of course her daddy. I have to share this one picture because you need to note how she was dressed by daddy.
Love it! I love to see what John dresses John Parker in; it's always amusing!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your trip went well. You definitely have a gift to speak to girls and women. Glad you got some time to yourself, too!
